Fun Halloween photos from this year (and yes I am a little bit slow publishing these). Brie was Rapunzel without the long hair (I think that would make her just another princess but whatever) and Lizzie was Wonder Woman (she wanted to be a super hero and we thought it would be a great time to introduce her to a classic, she loved!! it). We had to throw in one more of our beautiful cousin Hunter (somehow we had to put Bries wig to use and He volunteered).

Last weekend snow

2 days after Thanksgiving we were blessed with a weekend of snow. I say blessed because 1)the plants really needed it and 2)we could really enjoy it not having any place to be or schedule to keep. I think I will enjoy those days of snow when we can be carefree unlike today where we had to go to school and be there at 8am when it was snowing. Lucky at 8am it wasn't snowing too much and just snowed lightly for the whole day. Right before I went to pick up the kids the sun came out and the snow was extremely light. Shortly after though it picked up to the heaviest that it has been all day. I am grateful that I didn't have to deal with the worst of it today. I feel that I am gradually being introduced to this foreign concept. I don't think I am a snow person but I am sure I will get used to it. Lizzie and Brie on the other hand love it and get extremely excited when it snows (and even the possibility of snow). Here are a few pictures of our snow days after Thanksgiving.

This Picture was taken at 10 o'clock at night. It was so light outside it could have been day.

Here are the girls playing in the backyard.

baby oh baby

Found a pretty funny website that I saw on another friends blog. The site is called makemebabies and it is hilarious. You can pretty much make a baby with anyone (celeb or someone you know) but I thought Jon would be a good start since we have already made a few of our own. I wanted to know what a computer would think that our next child would look like. It was pretty fun to see but I have to say way off. First of all this baby is pretty cute and as some of you know that our babies right off are really not that cute (they get cuter later). Second where did that red hair come from. So far with us it is no hair or a ton of dark dark hair. The red would be fun though. When I have the chance I will post the girls baby pictures so you all can compare. Now I think that I am going to make a baby with my long lost love Ewan Mcgreggor but I don't think that this baby will be as cute as my two beautiful girls I have now (they get their good looks from their dad).

Its been a while

My Mom

As you can see I am not really good at blogging (All though I want to get better) but I want to take a moment to define here and now the purpose of my blog. I hope that in this blog I can write about things in that happened in the past, what's happening now and what our goals are (mine as an individual and also our goals as a family) for the future. This blog is mostly for my record; it is my way for me to journal but I do invite all who want to read it. I hope that I can give myself the time it deserves to record all the important and unimportant things I want to remember. To start it off I want to share something that is very sentimental to me. That is the pictures of 3 generations of cowgirls. Why is this so special some may ask? Although it only has a few individuals included to me it represents so much more. This represents the growth of our family. Until the recent passing of my great grandmother Tiedge there were 5 generations alive at one point. I find that just fascinating and exciting that first 5 generations were alive at one time and second we all came from this one person and have continued from that point. I also love these pictures because I have something that cannot be recreated but actually captured the first two times by chance and then made into a tradition which I hope one of my children continue. To me these pictures are a legacy that my family holds. They are a memento and a reminder for future generations of our great family. So I hope all enjoys them in a different light and can see them as not just pictures but the way that I do.

Lizzie the Fish

As most of you know Lizzie participated on the neighborhood swim team this year. We knew this was something that she would be able to do and hoped she would enjoy. Lizzie took to swimming at a very young age and has always loved being in the water. Taking baths has always been a favorite past time for her. In fact we believe she taught herself to swim in the bath tub. It was only after the encouragement of Lolo that she shed the floaty suit 2 years ago and took off.

Now that swim team is over we wanted to share with all of you some of her achievements this year. Lizzie didn't love her scheduled practices (it was a little to early for her a 7:45 each morning) and meets were a little scary, but she loved being in the water and being on a team. She was the only 6 and under to swim in the 8 and under 50 Freestyle. She dropped her time 30 seconds over the season. Lizzie's 6 and under relay team went to finals this year which is very rare for Hunters Hill. The coolest thing was besides a team trophy Lizzie got a high point trophy for her age group. She is a trophy hound and has about 8 on her desk (6 of which are uncle Dan's football and swim trophy's which he can definitely claim back). So now she has 2 more trophy's and a medal to add to her collection. Hopefully this is encouragement to do swim team again next year. I think whether or not she wants to do it we may make her for a while until she realizes herself that she loves it (we know deep down inside she does).

Girls night

Last night the girls and I decided to have a "Girls night". It was a fun and glamorous evening. We decided to start the night with playing restaurant. This was Lizzie's idea and what a fun game it was. Of course I didn't give them choices (I wasn't going to be there all night) but they thought it was just as fun with me telling them the special for the evening. We served our meal in courses which I may try to do on a regular basis. I found by giving them their salad first they ate more of it then by serving it with dinner. After dinner the bill came to a hug and a kiss.

We then cleaned up and went to the spa. There the girls were treated to a bubble bath followed by a warm towel. They were so cute they kept trying to talk fancy which I attribute to the Fancy Nancy books that have become one of new favorites. If you haven't read them I highly recommend them. Brianna has especially taken a strong liking to them. The other day she wore play high heels and a fancy dress to Lizzie's swim practice. It was 7:45 in the morning and here comes Brianna in fancy attire. Everyone got a real kick out of it as Brianna was twirling and dancing around the pool.

After the "spa" the girls and I painted nails, wrapped our hair in curlers and watched Princess Dairies 2. We have all decided to have a girls night next Saturday too and maybe it will just be our Saturday night Tradition.
